I'm not much of an IPA guy; in fact, over six years of brewing I've yet to brew one. However, last year I found myself brewing for an event where the theme was IPA's. Having really enjoyed Stone's black IPA I decided to go that route and was thrilled with the results. Just to make it interesting I included some rye and a touch of peat-smoked malt. (You can find my full recipe here). Fad or not, I think there are lots of great things you can do with black IPA's!

Thanks for stopping by and sharing your experience. Especially since IPAs are NOT really your thing. Always good to get a different perspective.

Peat smoked malt, rye, hops, dark malts....whoa that must have been something to sort through during the first sip. I checked out the recipe and I'll post a link for others too see.
